General Counselling

Sometimes life gets complicated. You might be dealing with loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, or a period of deep uncertainty. You might be carrying old wounds that keep showing up in new ways, or navigating a major life transition. Whatever brings you here, counselling offers a grounded and confidential space to think things through — with someone who is genuinely curious about your experience and committed to your wellbeing.

John's approach is trauma-informed and person-centred — which means the pace and direction of the work is guided by you. He draws on a range of therapeutic frameworks, including Narrative Therapy, Family Therapy, and strength-based approaches, adapting to what fits your situation rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

Get in touch

To enquire about counselling, supervision, or any of John's services — please reach out. All enquiries are handled with care and confidentiality.

The first step is often the hardest. If you're not sure whether this is the right fit, or whether what you're dealing with is something John works with, please get in touch anyway — even a brief conversation can help clarify things.

Sessions are available via telehealth for clients across NSW and Australia. John aims to respond to all enquiries within two business days.

A Note on Confidentiality

Everything discussed in counselling is confidential, with the standard exceptions required by law (risk of serious harm to yourself or others, mandatory reporting obligations). John will explain these clearly at your first session.

If you are in crisis right now, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or present to your nearest emergency department.

Professional Registration

John is an accredited social worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and meets the professional standards required for registration as a counsellor and social worker in Australia.
